  • This on-line course is a comprehensive program allowing the user to obtain the ability to correctly interpret a 12 Lead ECG. The program will focus on objectives like the process for acquiring a 12 lead EKG, proper lead placement and skin preparation, anatomical views of the heart, conditions where a 12 lead would be indicated, the electrical conduction system, cardiac wave forms, axis deviation, ACS recognition, bundle branch blocks, LVH, and ST segment elevation. This course is scheduled to run 4 hours in duration.
  • AHLS for Chemical Burns & Toxic Products of Combustion
    AHLS for Chemical Burns is a 4-hour course and is derived from the AHLS Provider course. The course fills the training requirements for the US Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) Bioterrorism Hospital Preparedness Programs (BHPP) for the care of burn victims of terrorist attacks.
    After completing the course, participants will be able to:
    Recognize that inhalation is the most common route of exposure at hazmat incidents
    List the routes of exposure for acids, bases, oxidizers and phosphorus
    Describe characteristic signs and symptoms of poisoning by hydrofluoric acid and fluorides
    Recite the poisoning treatement for asphyxiant poisoning

    Chemical, Biological, Radiological, & Nuclear Agents
    The AHLS Toxic Terrorism program is a 5-hour, 1-day course. This course is derived from the AHLS Provider course and is intended for those who need the information, but are unable to attend a 2-day Provider course.
    Hospitals have found this course helpful to offer to their staff.
    Participants of AHLS for Toxic Terrorism will be able to:
    Rapidly assess toxic terrorism patients
    Recognize toxic syndromes (toxidromes)
    Identify and administer specific antidotes, antibiotics and vaccines for toxic terrorism patients
    Apply the Poisoning Treatment Paradigm

    The Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS) Provider program is a 16 hour, two-day course that gives health professionals a timely and effective response strategy in the medical management of hazmat incidents.Participants will receive a four-year verification status upon successful completion of the course. This course covers a vast array of hazardous materials, including pesticides, corrosives, toxic inhalants and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear agents.     Paramedic Test Preparation

    Stage Three:
    A two hour session to tie it all together, Instructor led small group (no more than 5 students) discussing knowledge deficits, testing strategies, common mistakes found in testing.
