  • North Carolina EMR, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic certifications must be renewed every four years from date of issuance. 10A NCAC 13P .0503

  • Optional renewal methods:

    • Present NC OEMS a valid EMS credential for an equal level of application issued by the NREMT; OR
    • By another state where the education and credentialing requirements have been determined by NC OEMS staff in their professional judgment to be equivalent to the educations and credentialing requirements set forth in Section 10A NCAC 13P .0504(b)
