Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems Requirements

  • Although we strive to keep everything updated, please check with your state EMS Representative for the most current re-certification information.

    • EMR & or EMR certifications are valid for 3 years
    • Paramedics certifications expire March 31st every 2 years
      • Paramedics must hold a NREMT Paramedic certification

  • EMRs and EMTs that are Maryland State certified only must follow the MIEMSS protocols.
