Pennsylvania Department of Health Requirement

  • Although we strive to keep everything updated, please check with your state EMS Representative for the most current re-certification information.

  • Pennsylvania AEMTs & Paramedics must renew every 2 years by December 31st.

    Pennsylvania EMRs & EMTs must renew every 3 years from initial certification.

  • Pennsylvania licensees who will be maintaining their NREMT certification will need to ensure that they meet NREMT requirements.

  • EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2015, all persons applying for issuance of an initial license shall be required to complete 3 hours of DPW-approved training in child abuse recognition and reporting requirements as a condition of licensure.
